ZaK F.A.Q. - How to close a room?

If you need to close a room in order not to sell it, there are more ways in ZaK. Let's take a look at all the possibilities and what each implies.

1. FROM SYTAR

Sytar allows you to make massive closures for one or more products at the same time. If you have more rates to close, you must repeat the operation for each rate. You can do this from the icon , which is the "Inventory Mode".

Now you have to define:

- the period to be closed

- the rate to be closed (e.g. the non-refundable)

- the products to be closed (e.g. "all products")

- the days to be closed (e.g. "every day of week")

Now in the "Closure" box choose "Set closed" and then save:

This closes the entire room category. Example: if my double room has 4 availability, in this way I am closing the entire category and therefore all 4 availability.

This operation will also be reflected in Tabla, where you will find the black box (=closure) in the specific date/room/rate:

! NOTE: The operation will NOT be reflected in the Planner because there you don't see the entire room category, but the individual physical rooms (=availability). However, if you try to add a reservation for a closed date/room/rate, you will be informed that there is no availability. Or, if there are other rates open, only those ones will be displayed.

For further information on Sytar and its functions, please refer to the documentation below:

2. FROM TABLA

The same operation as in point 1 can also be carried out from Tabla. Here you need to act day by day, room by room and rate by rate.

Just find the room/date/rate to be closed and click on the icon . Remember to save by clicking on the icon above :

↳ Useful Link: ZaK > Products > Tabla

This closes the entire room category, just as it does with Sytar. So you can consider the same example as point 1: if my double room has 4 availability, in this way I am closing the entire category and therefore all 4 availability.

In Tabla you will now find the black box (=closure) in the specific date/room/rate:

! NOTE: Also in this case the operation will NOT be reflected on the Planner, for the same reason as indicated in point 1.

For further information on Tabla and its functions, please refer to the documentation below:

3. FROM THE PLANNER

You can also close the sale from the Planner, by clicking on the room/date you wish to close.

In the window that opens, move to the CLOSE ROOM sub-section and choose how many nights to close. You can also define a name for this closure or add other rooms to be closed:

↳ Useful Link: ZaK > Products > Planner

Once saved, on the Planner you'll see a black box with the closure name:

! NOTE: Acting from the Planner only closes that specific physical room (=availability) and not the entire room category.

☞ Docs: ZaK - Physical rooms

Example: If my double room category consists of 4 physical rooms, I have to close all 4 physical rooms in the Planner in order to close the entire category. If I close only 1 physical room, I am only closing 1 availability. The other 3 availability will still be open.

For this reason, in Tabla you will NOT see the entire category closed (black box). Only availability will be affected. If you close all the physical rooms of that category, its availability will become zero:

For further information on Planner and its functions, please refer to the documentation below:

☞ Docs: ZaK - Planner

4. FROM THE ZVIEW

You can also perform closures from the zView in the same way as with the Planner. Click on the date/room concerned and then act from the sub-section CLOSE ROOM, as explained in point 3. Also in this case you will see a black box with the closure name:

↳ Useful Link: ZaK > Products > zView

! NOTE: Even acting from the zView you will only close that specific physical room (=availability) and not the whole room category.

Consequently, in Tabla you will NOT see the entire category (black box). Only availability will be affected:

For further information on zView and its functions, please refer to the documentation below:

☞ Docs: ZaK - zView

5. FROM THE "CLOSURES" PAGE

This section shows the closures made by the Planner and zView:

↳ Useful Link: ZaK > Products > Closures

Here you can also add a new closure on the left-hand side of the page. Simply define:

- the period to be closed

- a name to identify that closure

- the rooms to be closed (you can choose one physical room; or 'all rooms'; or 'multiple rooms' to choose only the ones you want)

! NOTE: Again, you are closing individual physical rooms (=availability) and not the whole room category.

☞ Docs: ZaK - Physical rooms

Example: If my double room category consists of 4 physical rooms, here I have to close all 4 physical rooms in order to close the whole room category. If I close only 1 physical room, the other 3 availability will still be open.

Therefore, in Tabla you will NOT see the entire category (black box). Only availability will be affected, as for points 3 and 4:

6. FROM THE RACK

You can also close a room from the Rack, the tool that allows you to check the status and availability of your rooms:

↳ Useful Link: ZaK > Reservations > Rack

Choose a day and click on a room, this will open the same window as from the Planner (step 3) in order to proceed with the closure:
