ZaK - City tax for OTA reservations

If you have activated the Essentials package and you have already configured your city tax, then it will be applied automatically both to the reservations of your site and to those entered manually.

How is the city tax calculated for reservations coming from OTAs? Let's see how it works!

CITY TAX FOR OTA RESERVATIONS

In case of Channel Manager reservations, you can set how ZaK should behave, in the following section:

↳ Useful Link: ZaK > Sales > Channels > Settings

You can choose between 3 options:

  • ZaK Setup first: if you have the Essentials package enabled, ZaK will calculate the city tax according to what you have configured. The tax will be added automatically in channels reservations. If instead you have not subscribed Essentials or you use it but you have not configured the city tax, then ZaK will try to detect the tax from the information sent by the OTA. This tax will be automatically added inside the reservation (exactly at CTAXES section, under RESERVATION). If however the OTA has not sent us this data, then ZaK will not add any tax. You can enter it manually anyway.
  • Only OTA info: ZaK will try to detect the tax from the information sent by the OTA. This tax will be automatically added inside the reservation (exactly at CTAXES section, under RESERVATION). If however the OTA has not sent us this data, then ZaK will not add any tax. You can enter it manually anyway.
  • No City Tax at all: no city tax will be added in the reservation. If you wish, you can enter it manually.

HOW TO ENTER THE TAX MANUALLY?

The procedure to add the city tax manually is very simple! You just need to access the reservation details and click on the CTAXES section. Now select the GUESTS button and click the pencil icon. You can now digit the tax for each guest per night and save. Example:
